Working with images and annotations

How to work with images?

You can add images at any place in your document - for that, add the according step-item where the image should be placed and either paste your image from the clipboard, drag & drop it from your file system or use the image picker to select an image from your hard disk.

All images will be resized so the largest side has a maximum length of 1000px.

Annotations

Images and screenshots can be enhanced and adjusted by using annotations.
Just select your image step-item, and the available annotations will appear in the toolbar.

These annotations are currently available. Toggle / hover a section to learn more about a specific annotation type:

How to create an annotation

Each annotation can be styled differently. In the second row of the toolbar, you can adjust all of these options, which range from background color, border size over to opacity or drop shadows.

Styling annotations

You can adjust the style of an annotation either:

  • by adjusting the default style.

Annotation Presets

We offer some style presets which you can adjust to match your desired look. You can access all presets in the sidebar that appears when having an annotation selected.

You can also create custom presets that can be used all over the document as well as across other documents.
